About the Vieux Chateau Palon Montagne Saint-Emilion 2016 750ml
This is a firm wine, full of blackberry Merlot fruits with 25% Cabernet Franc. It has bold tannins and ripe spice from wood aging in new wood, The wine is still structured, but now ready to drink
Ripe, supple and fleshy, this is ripe, round, lush and easy to drink, due to all its ripe, black cherries, licorice and espresso. This is delicious to drink now, and will be even better with a few years of aging.
Best paired with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised, and grilled dishes.
92 Points - James Suckling
Plenty of charred oak, but this muscular Montagne-St.-Emilion also has a ton of crushed berries that provide succulent balance. The long finish is harmonious enough to drink well already. 75 per cent merlot and 25 per cent cabernet franc. Drink or hold
