Tokaji Furmint

Tokaji Furmint refers to wines made primarily from the Furmint grape variety, grown in the Tokaj region of Hungary. These wines can range from dry to intensely sweet, with both styles showcasing vibrant acidity and unique flavors.
Dry Furmint:
Dry Furmint wines are known for their refreshing acidity and flavors of green apple, pear, and citrus, often with mineral notes.
They are typically light to medium-bodied and can be enjoyed as an aperitif or paired with lighter dishes like seafood.
Examples include the Chateau Dereszla Dry Furmint and Royal Tokaji Dry Furmint.
Sweet Furmint (Tokaji Aszú):
Tokaji Aszú wines are made from Furmint grapes affected by noble rot, resulting in lusciously sweet and complex wines.
These wines offer flavors of dried apricot, honey, and vanilla, with hints of exotic spices and nuts.
The sweetness is balanced by the grape's natural acidity, creating a harmonious and long-lasting finish.
Examples include the Tokaji Furmint Late Harvest and Tokaji Furmint félédes (semi-sweet).
