Sandhill Small Lots Syrah 2021 is a full-bodied red wine that presents a striking deep purple-black or deep garnet colour. The sensory profile features a complex and ever-changing bouquet of baked blue plum, black cherry, and cassis, interwoven with notes of violet, charred oak, vanilla extract, and earthy forest floor. On the palate, it is rich and juicy, delivering concentrated flavours of dark fruits and dark chocolate supported by firm, drying tannins and an excellent structure. The finish is long and warming, with lingering nuances of black tea, cocoa powder, spice, and leather. Crafted from carefully selected, low-yielding vineyard blocks in the Okanagan Valley, the wine typically undergoes 14 months of aging in a combination of American and French oak barrels to round out its mouthfeel and add layers of complexity.
