About the Mount Riley Sauvignon Blanc 2024 750ml
The Marlborough area is ideal for the Sauvignon Blanc. The hot days, the cool nights and the little rainfall in summer and autumn ensure optimal, long and slow ripening of the grapes, which in that way can keep their optimal aromas. It is also the most serious competitor for renowned French Sauvignon Blancs such as Sancerre and Pouilly Fume. They use both traditional and modern techniques to be able to produce high quality wines.
Tasting notes
Light straw yellow with green hues. A complex bouquet with aromas of passionfruit, pink grapefruit, citrus and greener components of lemongrass, kafir lime, capsicum and gooseberries. Fantastic fruit weight and intensity of flavour is matched with mouth-watering acidity.
Food pairing
Drinking well now. Great as an aperitif or match with seafood, white meats, pasta, salads or Asian cuisine.
95 Points - Natalie MacLean
Very light to pale colour. The aromas are young and bright, savoury and faintly sweaty and reductive; the palate rich and flavoursome yet also light, with a cleverly balanced touch of sweetness enhancing the fruit flavour.
