Cristal Vinothèque is the culmination of Louis Roederer's know-how. Twenty years of careful attention and unique winemaking techniques result in a limited number of Cristal bottles produced only in the most outstanding vintages for their sophistication and elegance.

Cristal Vinothèque offers exceptional freshness and the promise of eternal youth. It is the result of 20 years of aging in three successive stages.

The first stage comprises 8 to 12 years of contact with the lees to give the champagne its structure and rich aromas. The lees give the wine depth and cashmere texture.

After racking, the wine is left to rest "sur pointe" for another 5 to 10 years. This stage is crucial in slowing down the ageing process and prolonging maturation while preserving the unique freshness that forms the essence of Cristal Vinothèque.

The third and final stage, which takes place after disgorging, lasts from 2 to 6 years and ensures that the bubbles and matter fuse into one. It is in the heart of Louis Roederer's cellars, dug out of the rock just below the water table, that this silent and secret process begins to take shape. Total darkness and a temperature of 11°C provide the perfect conditions for the champagne to flourish and reach its true potential.

This customised ageing process involves a late disgorgement which gives Cristal Vinothèque its original identity and adds to the rarity of this exceptional cuvée. It offers the characteristic aromas of Cristal combined with iodized, salty notes and remarkable freshness. It is not quite the same, but it is not different either. It is more Cristal than ever.

60% Pinot noir and 40% Chardonnay. 32% of wines are vinified in wood (oak barrels) with a weekly punch-up. No malolactic fermentation.

Clayey-calcareous terroir.

Its ideal pairing would be with soft cheeses, blue fish, seafood and white fish.

It can be drunk in perfect conditions from now until 2030.

It should be served at a temperature of between 4ºC and 8ºC in a Josephine Champagne-type glass for best taste.
