About the Chateau Tour Bayard 2023
Château Tour Bayard 2023 is an expressive and remarkably well-balanced red wine hailing from Montagne-Saint-Émilion, one of the premier satellite appellations on Bordeaux's Right Bank. Owned by the Richard family, the estate features clay-limestone soils that lend both structure and a vivid fresh minerality to its Merlot-driven profile. In the glass, it reveals rich aromas of ripe black plum, cassis, and sweet black cherries, interwoven with subtle hints of licorice, cocoa, and gentle wood spice. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied with supple, fine-grained tannins, vibrant natural acidity, and a smooth, savory fruit finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with roasted lamb, grilled ribeye steak, braised beef short ribs, duck breast, or aged hard cheeses.
91 Points - James Suckling
Ripe plums and blackcurrants, complemented by spice and licorice notes. Medium- to full-bodied, leaning toward the latter, this shows round, expressive dark fruit and fine-grained, creamy tannins that lead to a focused finish. Drink or hold.
