About the Pere Anselme Chateauneuf-du-Pape La Fiole Du Pape
Open nose, powerful with notes of blackcurrant and prunes. Fresh, fruity attack with large mouth, aromas of red fruit and liquorice. Long and pleasant finish. In the mouth, this wine surprises by its smoothness at first and its powerful tannins at the end. A nice typical Grenache product with an aging potential of 3 to 5 years. Serves well with lamb leg, beef in sausage or even pizza.
Wine Spectator
An expressive red, with warm fig and raspberry pâte de fruit laced with expressive violet perfume. The impressive finish is driven by roasted garrigue and mineral energy. This is still tightly coiled, however, and will need time for new layers to emerge. Grenache and Syrah.
Tasting Panel
Complete with a twisted bottle designed to look like it’s been aged—dust and all—this shows all the characteristics one expects from an approachable, juicy, and balanced Grenache-andSyrah-based CNP. The fruit shines through the high acidity, with plum and rhubarb taking the lead on a great mouthfeel. Garrigue notes develop and dry the palate a bit, showing a maturity and joining an accent of white pepper.
