About the Zuccardi Piedra Infinita 2016
An exceptional single-vineyard Malbec from Finca Piedra Infinita in Paraje Altamira, high in Mendoza’s Uco Valley. The 2016 combines remarkable precision and elegance with pure dark fruit, vibrant acidity and an unmistakably chalky mineral texture derived from the estate’s extremely stony, limestone-rich soils.
Food Pairing: Pair with grilled ribeye, Argentine asado, roasted lamb, braised short ribs, game meats, mushroom dishes, and mature hard cheeses.
100 Points - Robert Parker The Wine Advocate
The wine has reached a stratospheric level of precision, symmetry and elegance in 2016 that is really captivating. Everything seems to be in its place; there is great harmony, the aromatics are clean and pure and the texture is like liquid chalk. There is power and elegance, energy and finesse.
96 Points - James Suckling
The aromas of dark fruit with nutmeg and cloves are fascinating. Medium body, firm and silky tannins and a savory finish. A soulful wine. Subtle but complex. Drink or hold.
91 Points - Wine Spectator
Minerally, featuring dried berry and cherry tart flavors, supported by fine-grained tannins. White pepper and dried sage notes show on the sleek finish.
