Zenato Valpolicella Ripassa Superiore 2021 is a concentrated, deeply expressive, and harmonious Italian red wine often affectionately referred to as a "baby Amarone." Crafted using the traditional ripasso method, the young Valpolicella wine is re-fermented over the warm, grape-skin pomace leftover from the estate's Amarone production, infusing it with extra body, complexity, and soul. It pours a dense ruby-red and reveals an aromatic bouquet of wild blackberries, dried prunes, and dark cherry jam layered with sweet baking herbs, crushed black pepper, and fine leather. On the palate, it is silken and round, presenting a velvety texture with rich flavors of plum, mocha, and licorice. Balanced beautifully by an integrated, cooling acidity and fine-grained tannins, it glides into a long, savory, and layered finish.
