About the Yukon Single Malt Two Brewers Release 51
Produced by Yukon Spirits / Two Brewers in Whitehorse, Yukon, Release 51 belongs to their "Peated" line. Distilled in small copper pot stills from heavily peated malted barley and matured in oak casks, this small-batch single malt marries earthy campfire smoke with rich malted cereal sweetness, dried fruits, and warming baking spices.
Food Pairing: Smoked brisket, aged Gouda or smoked Cheddar cheese, dark chocolate tarts, or grilled venison.
Tasting Notes: Deep golden amber with copper highlights and medium-to-rich viscosity along the glass.
Nose: Robust and aromatic, opening with smoldering campfire ash, peat smoke, and toasted malt, followed by dried fruit, dark honey, and subtle oak vanilla.
Palate: Full-bodied and rich on the palate, featuring sweet smoked malt, dried stone fruits, and dark caramel upfront before developing into warming clove, nutmeg, and dry peat smoke.
Finish: Long, warming, and smoky with lingering notes of earth, toasted grain, and gentle oak spice.
Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a Glencairn glass, or with a few drops of pure water to open up the peat smoke and fruit nuances.
