Yamazaki 18 Year Mizunara Cask Japanese Whisky Suntory 100th Anniversary

Crafted at the historic Yamazaki Distillery in Shimamoto, Osaka, this limited-edition single malt was released to commemorate the 100th anniversary of House of Suntory whisky making. Matured exclusively for a minimum of 18 years in rare Japanese Mizunara oak casks, this bottling showcases the signature incense-like character, elegant wood spice, and refined fruit profile that defines rare aged Mizunara oak.

Food Pairing: Wagyu beef, grilled black cod with miso, dark chocolate with candied orange peel, or aged Comté cheese.

Tasting Notes: Deep reddish amber with copper highlights and rich, heavy viscosity along the glass.

Nose: Intensely aromatic and complex, opening with fragrant sandalwood, temple incense, and dried apricot, followed by orange peel, subtle coconut, and delicate cinnamon spice.

Palate: Rich, velvety, and elegant on the palate, featuring sweet dark honey, subtle espresso, and cooked stone fruits upfront before developing into Japanese oak spice, clove, and refined Mizunara wood tannins.

Finish: Exceptionally long, warm, and meditative with lingering notes of sandalwood, gentle smoke, dried fruit, and lingering spice.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a Glencairn glass, or with a few drops of pure water to unlock deeper layers of Mizunara aromatics.
