Elixir Whisky Trail Knights Benrinnes 2002 20 Year Old

The Whisky Trail Knights Benrinnes 2002 20 Year Old is a single-cask Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled at Benrinnes Distillery and independently bottled by Elixir Distillers. Distilled on October 2, 2002 and bottled on November 7, 2022 after 20 years of maturation, it came from Hogshead Cask No. 42644 and was bottled at cask strength of 54.6% ABV, without chill filtration or added colouring.  

Food Pairing: Dark chocolate, caramel popcorn, almond pastries, orange cake, roasted nuts or aged cheddar.

Tasting Notes: A rich and full-bodied Speyside malt showing a creamy combination of chocolate, buttery popcorn, pastry and citrus alongside mature malt and oak. 

Nose: Rich chocolate, toasted nuts, caramel and orange with buttery pastry and mature malt.

Palate: Full and creamy, with chocolate, buttered popcorn, baked pastry and subtle orange, supported by warming oak and malt.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering chocolate, toasted cereal, citrus and mature oak.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature. At 54.6% ABV, a few drops of water can help reveal additional fruit, malt and creamy notes.
