Elixir Whisky Trail Highland Cows Benriach 2008 15 Year Old

The Whisky Trail Highland Cows BenRiach 2008 is a 15 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled at BenRiach Distillery and independently bottled by Elixir Distillers. The Canadian/Kensington Wine Market release was matured in a hogshead and bottled at 52.1% ABV. It forms part of The Whisky Trail’s Highland Cows series, whose single-cask whiskies are bottled without added colour or chill filtration. 

Food Pairing: Roast pork, aged cheddar, apple tart, toasted almonds, buttery shortbread or crème brûlée.

Tasting Notes: A mature Speyside single malt with a fruit-forward, malty character balanced by vanilla sweetness, gentle spice and oak.

Nose: Orchard fruit, honey, vanilla and malt with touches of citrus and gentle oak.

Palate: Rich malt and ripe fruit accompanied by vanilla, honeyed sweetness and warming spice.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering malt, fruit, vanilla and dry oak.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature or with a few drops of water to open its fruit and malt character.
