Decadent Drinks Whisky Sponge Edition No. 94 Inchmurrin 2009 15 Year Old

Whisky Sponge Edition No. 94 Inchmurrin 2009 is a 15 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky produced at Loch Lomond Distillery under its Inchmurrin style and independently bottled by Decadent Drinks. Distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2024, this single-cask release matured in a refill hogshead before being reduced slightly to 53% ABV. Only 252 bottles were produced, with the whisky presented at natural colour and without chill filtration.

Food Pairing: Pineapple upside-down cake, mango desserts, mature cheddar, roasted nuts, ginger biscuits or buttery shortbread.

Tasting Notes: An oily, characterful Highland malt dominated by tropical fruit, with cereal, gentle spice and mature oak providing balance.

Nose: Pineapple, guava and ripe yellow apple with honey, subtle gingerbread and a distinctive oily character.

Palate: Oily and weighty, with pineapple, mango, guava and sweet grapefruit alongside candied ginger, mild pepper, coffee and bread crust.

Finish: Medium to long, with lingering tropical fruit and cereal notes followed by increasingly noticeable oak.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature. At 53% ABV, a few drops of water can be added to explore its fruit-forward character.
