Weingut Knoll Ried Kreutles Loibner Grüner Veltliner Smaragd 2021 is a concentrated, elegant, and deeply expressive Austrian white wine from the historic Wachau valley. Grown on loess soils at the foot of the Loibenberg, this Smaragd-category Grüner Veltliner opens with complex aromas of mirabelle plum, white tea, legume, delicate herbs, and smoky minerality. The palate is rich, textured, and well-structured, combining dense yellow fruit and savory spice with vibrant, mouth-watering acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with roasted pork belly, pan-seared veal cutlets, Wiener Schnitzel, roasted poultry, grilled trout, and traditional Austrian cold cut platters.

Clear, dense and spicy on the nose, the 2021 Ried Kreutles Loibner Grüner Veltliner Smaragd is a deep, mineral and spicy white wine with tea and legume aromas. Very rich and fat on the palate but also spicy and savory, this is a generous but not very animating Kreutles with plenty of substance and firm tannins but no dancing leg. A rather stout Veltliner now. Tasted at Schloss Dürnstein, Wachau, in September 2022.
