Wayne Gretzky Red Cask Canadian Whisky is a smooth, innovative spirit crafted from locally sourced Ontario grains, celebrating the craftsmanship of Canadian distilling and winemaking. The grains are individually distilled and aged for a minimum of three years in once-used ex-Bourbon American oak barrels before being masterfully blended. The whisky is then finished in red wine casks sourced directly from the Wayne Gretzky Estates winery. This unique finishing process "polishes" the spirit, giving it a bright straw-gold color with a faint ruby hue. The nose is greeted with top notes of toasty new oak, almond nuttiness, rich vanilla, and warm caramel, underscored by stone fruits. On the palate, it is round and robust, balancing sweet baking spices and dark raisin notes with structural woody tannins, leading to a long, lingering finish of allspice and toasted nuts.
