Stormy Weather Wandering Star Cabernet Franc 2016 is a monumental, full-bodied expression of 100% Cabernet Franc crafted by winemaker Cameron Woodbridge. Sourced from the historic Mill Race Vineyard nestled along the eastern bank of the Napa River, this exceptional wine reflects an ideal 2016 growing season. The fruit underwent a 5-day cold soak followed by extended post-fermentation maceration, before being matured for 30 months in French oak barrels (80% new). In the glass, it displays a deep garnet-purple color, opening with a highly expressive and seductive bouquet of red roses, lavender, and raspberry pie, seamlessly interwoven with wild blueberries, Morello cherries, pencil shavings, and forest floor. On the palate, the wine delivers taut, muscular red and blue fruit preserves framed by a firm, grainy texture and a lively backbone, concluding in an extraordinarily long, sophisticated finish featuring notes of crème brûlée, graphite, and savory spice.
