About the Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino 2019
Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino 2019 is an exceptionally structured, dark garnet-colored Tuscan red that perfectly captures the character of a cooler, classic vintage. Sourced from estate vineyards in the prized northern sector of Montalcino, the nose opens with a complex bouquet of sugar-dusted black cherries, fresh oranges, and cedar wood, closely enveloped by sophisticated notes of wet earth, dry spices, tobacco, and wild wildflowers. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied, displaying a tightly wound, vibrant core of dark fruits, cacao, and balsamic nuances, all seamlessly framed by firm, assertively structured, yet remarkably fine-grained tannins and a crisp line of acidity that leads to an endlessly long, mineral-driven finish.
Food Pairing: This robust red pairs phenomenally with slow-braised wild boar ragù, grilled prime ribeye steaks, rosemary lamb chops, or mushroom risotto.

Coffee, tar and crushed rocks tumble over wild fennel, eucalyptus and blackberries on the nose. Tart and sweet blackberries lead off the palate, before saline earth tones emerge. The wine is very restrained at first, then everything begins to light up. Tannins are still youthful and assertive, while acidity causes your teeth to tingle.
This displays a mix of fruity and savory flavors, with notes of cherry, raspberry, rose hip, leather and earth. Pliable tannins emerge on the finish, yet this is balanced and long overall, with freshness and elegance.
