Undurraga Vigno Old Vines Dry-Farmed 2022 is an exceptional, highly expressive, and vibrant red wine that beautifully showcases the dry-farmed, old-vine heritage of Chile's Maule Valley. Sourced primarily from the La Soledad vineyard located in the coastal-influenced Sauzal area, this wine adheres to the rigorous standards of the Vigno (Vignadores de Carignan) collective. Crafted from ancient Carignan vines with a small addition of Cinsault for enhanced lift and fruitiness, it is aged for 16 months in large 5,000-liter oak foudres. In the glass, it reveals a deep, intense purple hue. The aromatic bouquet is wonderfully energetic and inviting, opening with concentrated notes of fresh blackberries, crème de cassis, and blue plums, gracefully layered with delicate nuances of dried hibiscus flowers, sweet baking spices, white pepper, and wild coastal herbs. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, succulent, and perfectly structured, delivering a generous core of juicy dark and blue fruit flavors.
