Tua Rita Sese is a unique and prestigious dessert wine that represents the estate's venture beyond the Tuscan mainland to the volcanic island of Pantelleria, located between Sicily and Tunisia. This Passito di Pantelleria is crafted from Zibibbo (Muscat of Alexandria) grapes, which are partially dried in the sun on traditional "stuoie" (mats) to concentrate their sugars, aromas, and acidity before fermentation.
On the nose, it offers an opulent and intoxicating bouquet of dried apricots, candied orange peel, and blossom honey, seamlessly layered with exotic notes of fresh figs, dates, and a hint of wild Mediterranean herbs. The palate is luscious and full-bodied, yet perfectly balanced by a vibrant streak of acidity and a distinct salty minerality derived from the island's volcanic soils. Flavours of golden raisins and orange marmalade lead to an exceptionally long, elegant finish that remains fresh rather than cloying.
