Tomintoul Pedro Ximenez Sherry Cask Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Tomintoul Pedro Ximénez Sherry Cask Finish is a small-batch Speyside Single Malt created by Master Distiller Robert Fleming. The whisky is initially matured in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, before selected casks are married and finished in Pedro Ximénez Sherry butts from Andalucía, Spain. Bottled at 40% ABV, the PX finish builds on Tomintoul's gentle malt character with dried fruit, treacle, fruitcake, marzipan, toasted nuts, cocoa and warming baking spices. 

Food Pairing:
Pair with fruitcake, sticky toffee pudding, dark chocolate, toasted walnuts, mature cheddar, date cake, banana bread or chocolate-covered dried fruit.

Tasting Notes: Rich and sweet, with dried fruit and treacle layered over malty sweetness, toasted nuts, marzipan, cocoa and warming spice.

Nose: Sweet treacle and dried figs mingle with malt loaf and raisins, followed by cinnamon, clove and other baking spices.

Palate: Fruitcake and banana bread lead into dates, marzipan, toasted walnuts and sultanas, with cinnamon and clove providing gentle warmth.

Finish: Warm and comforting, with pastry, cocoa and syrup-cake sweetness gradually giving way to oak and a subtle tobacco character. 

Serve: Enjoy neat or over ice. It also works well as an after-dinner whisky alongside dried fruit or chocolate desserts.
