Tomatin 12 Year Old 2010 Italian Collection Marsala Edition

Tomatin The Italian Collection Marsala Edition is a limited-release 12 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky created to explore the influence of Italian wine casks on Tomatin's fruit-forward spirit. Distilled on 6 December 2010, the whisky matured for 10 years in traditional oak casks before being transferred on 10 February 2021 to Marsala wine casks for a further two years. It was bottled on 5 June 2023 at 46% ABV, without chill filtration or added colouring. The Marsala maturation brings rich pastry and confectionery notes to Tomatin's Highland character, with panettone, candied citrus, white chocolate, lemon, hazelnut and toasted oak.

Food Pairing: Pair with panettone, lemon tart, cannoli, toasted hazelnuts, aged hard cheese, white chocolate desserts, almond cake or citrus-glazed pork.

Tasting Notes: Sweet and fruit-forward, combining candied citrus and rich pastry with white chocolate, lemon confectionery, hazelnut and toasted oak.

Nose: Panettone and candied lime lead the aroma, supported by sweet pastry, citrus and gentle wine-cask richness.

Palate: Creamy white chocolate and lemon truffle notes develop alongside hazelnut, raisins and sweet citrus.

Finish: Sweet citrus and blood orange linger with toasted oak and gentle warming spice.

Serve: Enjoy neat in a tulip-shaped whisky glass. A small splash of water can further open the citrus, confectionery and Marsala-influenced fruit notes.
