About the Tomatin 12 Year Old French Oak 46% ABV 750ml
This North America exclusive bottling of Tomatin 12 year old was matured in ex Bourbon Hogsheads for the first 9 years and finished in French Oak casks for the final 3 years. The casks were specially sourced from various European cooperages, including Lafite, Vicard and Seguin Moreau, and originally contained red wine from the Bacalhoa winery which was formerly owned by Rothschild.
The casks have been de-charred and re-charred to give a sweet and creamy flavour, like virgin oak casks.
Nose
Malty biscuits, vanilla, coconut. Red fruits, white peach and cashew nuts with fresh rocket. Candy sweets, toffee and butterscotch come through as it warms.
Mouth
Delicious sweetness, candy and marzipan, cheesecake base peppered with cloves.
Finish
Light and creamy.
