To Kalon Vineyard Co Eliza's Red Blend 2022 is a highly sophisticated, plush, and aromatically stunning proprietary red crafted from the legendary gravelly soils of Oakville. A masterful marriage of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, this deeply expressive cuvée reveals the spectacular nuance achievable at the foot of the Mayacamas Mountains. It opens with an exuberant, perfumed bouquet of black raspberries, ripe blackcurrants, and dried rose hips, elegantly layered with complex notes of unsmoked cigar box, spearmint, flowery incense, and shaving graphite. On the medium-to-full-bodied palate, it strikes a seamless harmony between decadent power and lively, higher-toned elegance. Supported by impeccably polished, velvety tannins and a distinct core of ironstone-driven mineral intensity, it glides into a lingering, majestic finish showing nuances of dark cocoa nibs and espresso.
Food Pairing: This luxurious Napa Valley blend pairs magnificently with slow-braised prime rib, rosemary-crusted rack of lamb, pan-seared venison chops, or aged Gouda.

So floral, fresh but rich, this blend contains a majority of cabernet franc aged in 100% new oak. Powerful, concentrated and alive in aromas of violets, tobacco leaf and espresso, together with iron, graphite, blackcurrant, black-olive and grilled-rosemary flavors. While concentrated and deep, it's a bit lighter and more elegant than more cabernet sauvignon-heavy blends. Drinkable now and best from 2030.
