Douglas Laing Timorous Beastie Meet the Beast Limited Edition 2023

Timorous Beastie “Meet the Beast” 2023 is a limited-edition Highland Blended Malt Scotch Whisky from Douglas Laing’s Remarkable Regional Malts range. Released on Friday, October 13, 2023, it combines malt whiskies from Highland distilleries and was matured exclusively in bourbon casks. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 54.3% ABV, with no added colouring or chill filtration, it delivers a concentrated Highland profile of sweet vanilla, citrus, juicy malt, gingerbread, honey, gentle spice, meringue and fudge.

Food Pairing: Pair with roast pork, glazed ham, mature cheddar, gingerbread, toasted almonds, lemon cake, vanilla desserts or caramel fudge.

Tasting Notes: Powerful yet sweet and approachable, combining vanilla and bright citrus with juicy malt, honey, gingerbread, gentle spice and confectionery sweetness.

Nose: Sweet vanilla leads into lively citrus and juicy malted barley.

Palate: Warm and full-bodied, with freshly baked gingerbread, liquid honey and restrained warming spice.

Finish: Long and sweet, with meringue and rich caramel-fudge notes lingering after the spice.

Serve: Enjoy neat after allowing it to rest in the glass. At 54.3% ABV, add a few drops of water gradually to open the vanilla, citrus and honeyed malt.
