Douglas Laing Timorous Beastie Meet the Beast 13 Year Old Cask Strength Limited Edition

Timorous Beastie “Meet the Beast” 13 Year Old is a limited-edition Highland Blended Malt Scotch Whisky released by Douglas Laing in 2022. Created from a marriage of Highland single malts, the whisky was matured exclusively in American bourbon barrels for at least 13 years and bottled at its natural cask strength of 52.5% ABV. Limited to just 3,000 bottles, this expression amplifies the classic Timorous Beastie profile with concentrated honey, citrus, vanilla and warming spice.

Food Pairing: Pair with roast pork, glazed ham, mature cheddar, roasted nuts, orange-glazed chicken, gingerbread, vanilla cake or honey-based desserts.

Tasting Notes: Rich and concentrated, combining honeyed sweetness and citrus with vanilla, waxy character and warming bourbon-cask spice.

Nose: Sweet honey leads into spiced citrus fruit with vanilla and underlying malt.

Palate: Burnt orange zest and waxy honeycomb develop alongside spicy vanilla and warming oak.

Finish: Lingering gentle spice with sweet vanilla and persistent honeyed malt.

Serve: Enjoy neat after allowing it to rest in the glass. At 52.5% ABV, add a small amount of water gradually to open the citrus, honey and vanilla notes.
