Marchesi Antinori Tenuta Tignanello Chianti Classico Riserva 2022 is an exceptionally vibrant, energetic, and beautifully structured Italian red wine sourced exclusively from the historic Tenuta Tignanello estate in the heart of the Chianti Classico production zone. Composed primarily of Sangiovese with small percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it benefits from the same unique calcareous marl and limestone terroir as the iconic flagship Tignanello bottling. In the glass, it reveals an intense ruby red hue. The highly expressive nose opens with enticing aromas of ripe red fruits, black cherries, and delicate floral hints of violets and rose petals, seamlessly layered with warm undertones of vanilla, cocoa powder, tobacco leaf, and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full-bodied, mouthfilling, and wonderfully balanced, displaying excellent fluid coherence where its core of succulent cherry and plum fruit is framed by a lively line of tight-knit natural acidity and ripe, velvety tannins. Maturation for approximately one year in French and Hungarian oak barriques yields a polished texture, culminating in a long, savory, and remarkably persistent finish accented by elegant mineral and spice complexities.
