About the Petit Perou Morgon Vieilles Vignes 2022

This vintage comes from century-old vines, planted in 1920, below of the Côte du Py, on soils composed of clay, blue stones and alluvium.

Matured, tasted, and watched over for 12 months in old oak casks. This wine brings you complex structure associated with dense, refined tannins that then give way to a long flavourful finish.

This bright and focused Morgon offers ripe cherries, red licorice and hints of cocoa and wet stones on the nose. Well-balanced and structured, it has a medium body and a velvety but well-defined tannin structure. Very attractive, with a mineral character in the finish. Drink or hold.

The wine opens with spiced red currant, black raspberry, mushroom and cranberry aromas that run towards red-cherry cola, late-fall field grass and bruised blackberry. The palate draws black fruit across slightly-velvety tannins that unlock an undercurrent of minerality on the finish.
