The Lakes Distillery Whiskymaker's Reserve No. 7

Produced by The Lakes Distillery near Bassenthwaite Lake in Cumbria, England, The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No. 7 is the seventh and final release in the distillery’s Whiskymaker’s Reserve series. Released in September 2023, it represents the culmination of the distillery’s exploration of a sherry-led signature style. Matured in Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez and red wine casks made from Spanish and American oak, it is bottled at 52% ABV, non-chill filtered and at natural colour, delivering a rich yet refined profile of honeyed fruit, chocolate and warming spice.

Food Pairing: Dark chocolate desserts, fruit cake, sticky toffee pudding, roasted duck, aged cheeses, or nut-based pastries such as almond tart.

Tasting Notes: Rich, creamy and refined, combining honeyed fruits and dark berries with chocolate, fragrant oak and warming spice.

Nose: Fragrant and elegant, with sandalwood, almond pastries and orchard fruits complemented by a gentle layer of baking spice.

Palate: Rich and creamy, developing honeyed fruits and currants alongside a subtle layer of dark chocolate and refined sweetness.

Finish: Long, creamy and fragrant, with warming spice and delicate cocoa nib notes lingering after the fruit fades.
