Master of Malt The Speyside Distillery 8 Year Old 2014 Single Cask

This independently bottled single malt was distilled at The Speyside Distillery in 2014 and matured for eight years in a refill hogshead before being bottled by Master of Malt. Bottled at 40% ABV, the whisky offers a light, fruit-forward Speyside profile built around orchard fruit, creamy vanilla, sweet malt and mellow oak. The exact Master of Malt release was limited to 298 bottles and was bottled without added colour or chill filtration.

Food Pairing: Mild cheddar, buttery shortbread, baked apple desserts, vanilla cheesecake or roasted almonds.

Tasting Notes: A soft and approachable Speyside single malt combining ripe orchard and stone fruits with creamy malt, vanilla sweetness, baked pastry and restrained oak spice.

Nose: Fresh apple, peach and apricot with buttered brioche, shortbread, vanilla cream and lively malt.

Palate: Creamy malt and vanilla oak with pear, apple and apricot, followed by lemon cake, vanilla fudge, milky coffee and a touch of pepper.

Finish: Smooth and buttery with mellow oak, creamy sweetness, butterscotch, vanilla and lingering fruit with gentle nutmeg spice.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature or with a few drops of water.
