About the The Prisoner Red Blend 2021
The Prisoner Red Blend was inspired by the wines first made by the Italian immigrants who originally settled in Napa Valley. The Prisoner is now the most recognized red blend, leading the resurgence of interesting blends by incorporating Zinfandel with the unlikely mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, and Charbono. Bright aromas of ripe raspberry, vanilla, and coconut give way to flavors of fresh and dried blackberry, pomegranate, and vanilla, which linger harmoniously for a smooth and luscious finish.
95 Points - Cameron Douglas MS
A bold and expressive bouquet of ripe, fresh and roasted dark berry fruits, licorice and baking spices, toasty barrel smoke, dark plums, clove and blackberry flesh. Complex, youthful and enticing. Full-bodied as the wine touches the palate with a core of richness, spice and power, flavours mirror the bouquet and with a mix of bold polished tannins and backbone of acidity this wine is ready age or drink now. Lengthy complex finish. Well made with best drinking from 2026 through 2036+.
93 Points - James Suckling
A bold and complex blend with layered dark fruit, spice, and a hint of chocolate. Full-bodied and rich with a smooth, lingering finish.
