Naked Grouse Blended Malt Scotch

Naked Grouse is a rich and fruit-forward Blended Malt Scotch Whisky introduced in its malt-only form in 2017. It combines selected single malt whiskies, including whisky from The Macallan, Highland Park, Glenturret and Glenrothes, before receiving an additional maturation of at least six months in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 40% ABV in many markets, it delivers an approachable sherry-led profile of cooked fruit, caramel, chocolate and warming spice. The expression was subsequently renamed Naked Malt, but Naked Grouse represents the earlier branding of the blended malt. 

Food Pairing: Aged cheddar, roasted almonds, charcuterie, fruitcake, dark chocolate or baked apple desserts.

Tasting Notes: Rich and fruity with cooked orchard fruit, cherries and dried fruit complemented by fudge, chocolate, vanilla and soft warming spice.

Nose: Ripe red fruit, raisins and cooked apple with vanilla, caramel and gentle oak spice.

Palate: Smooth and sweet with baked apple, cherries, dried fruit and fudge, followed by chocolate, vanilla and Oloroso sherry richness.

Finish: Soft and warming with lingering dried fruit, chocolate, oak and gentle spice.

Serve: Enjoy neat, over ice or with a small amount of water. It also works well in whisky-forward cocktails and highballs.
