Douglas Laing King of Scots 50 Year Old Blended Scotch 75th Anniversary Limited Edition

Douglas Laing King of Scots 50 Year Old is an exceptionally old Blended Scotch Whisky released in 2023 to celebrate Douglas Laing & Co.’s 75th anniversary. King of Scots was the first brand acquired by founder Fred Douglas Laing when the company began in 1948, making this release particularly significant to the family-owned bottler. Created from a selection of some of Douglas Laing’s oldest malt and grain whisky stocks, it was matured for at least 50 years and bottled at 46% ABV, with only 2,150 bottles released. 

Food Pairing: Aged Gouda, toasted almonds, dried apricots, apple tart, crème brûlée or dark chocolate.

Tasting Notes: Exceptionally mature and refined, balancing orchard and stone fruits with cereal sweetness, creamy malt, dried fruit, vanilla and well-integrated old oak.

Nose: Juicy apricot and ripe orchard fruits accompanied by rich cereal sweetness.

Palate: Creamy custard, honeyed malt and dried fruits create a rich, rounded and mature character.

Finish: Exceptionally long with charred oak, vanilla pod and sweet toffee apple. 

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a whisky tasting glass. Allow it several minutes to open before drinking; a few drops of water can be added if desired.
