About the d Arenberg The High Trellis Cabernet Sauvignon Museum Release 2013
A mature McLaren Vale Cabernet with blackcurrant, cassis and dark plum layered with cedar, dried herbs, earth and savoury spice. Bottle age brings greater integration and complexity, with structured tannins becoming supple while fresh acidity carries the wine through a persistent finish.
Food Pairing: Pair with roast beef, grilled lamb, braised short ribs, venison, mushroom dishes, hearty stews, or mature hard cheeses.
92 Points - James Suckling
Very ripe with currant and coffee aromas that follow through to a full body, lightly chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Remains tight and focused. Needs two or three years to soften. Screw cap.
86 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Crisp and tightly wound, this is a relatively austere Cabernet with an astringent finish. Cassis emerges with enough airing, accompanied by tart cranberries, which act to accentuate the drying tannins. Try after 2020
