The English Whisky Company Sherry Cask

Produced by The English Distillery at St George’s Distillery in Roudham, Norfolk, The English Sherry Cask is a full-bodied English single malt matured in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Part of the distillery’s core range, it combines rich dark fruit and confectionery sweetness with almonds, vanilla, citrus and gentle spice. Bottled at 46% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and presented at natural colour. The expression was named World’s Best Single Malt at the 2024 World Whiskies Awards.

Food Pairing: Fruit cake, dark chocolate, almond tart, mature cheeses, sticky toffee pudding, or roasted meats with a rich fruit glaze.

Tasting Notes: Full-bodied, rich and elegantly sweet, combining dark fruit and honeyed notes with chocolate, biscuits, nuts and gentle spice.

Nose: Rich and inviting, with dark fruits, almonds and vanilla complemented by honeycomb and bright citrus peel.

Palate: Sweet and layered, developing fruit cake, digestive biscuits, honey and ripe figs alongside a subtle touch of chocolate.

Finish: Long and sweet, with lingering fruit and honeyed richness followed by a gentle peppery kick.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a Glencairn or tulip-shaped whisky glass; a few drops of water can help open its dark fruit, vanilla and sherry-driven character.
