About the Eric Texier Vaison La Romain Cotes du Rhone
Éric Texier Vaison-la-Romaine Côtes du Rhône is a vibrant, terroir-driven Southern Rhône red blend crafted by organic winemaking pioneer Éric Texier. Sourced from vines grown on limestone-dominant soils in the village of Vaison-la-Romaine, this wine is composed predominantly of Grenache complemented by Cinsault and Carignan. Vinified using traditional whole-cluster fermentation with native yeasts in open concrete vats, it undergoes aging on fine lees without fining or filtration to preserve its natural purity. In the glass, it presents a bright ruby hue with fragrant aromas of ripe dark cherries, wild raspberries, garrigue herbs, black pepper, and subtle mineral undertones. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied and supple, offering energetic red fruit, fine-grained leathery tannins, and a fresh, savory finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with roasted leg of lamb, grilled pork chops, wild mushroom ragù, roasted duck breast, ratatouille, and aged goat cheese.
