About the Eric Texier Brezeme
Éric Texier Côtes du Rhône Brézème is a focused, terroir-driven Northern Rhône red wine produced by former nuclear engineer turned organic winemaking pioneer Éric Texier. Sourced from 20- to 40-year-old Syrah vines planted on south-facing limestone marl and clay slopes in the historic Brézème zone at the southern tip of the Northern Rhône Valley, this wine undergoes traditional whole-cluster fermentation using native yeasts in open concrete tanks. Aged for 18 to 24 months in concrete tanks on fine lees without fining or filtration, it displays a deep ruby color with lifted aromas of dark cherries, fresh raspberries, black tea, white pepper, and wood smoke. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, elegant, and finely balanced, offering vibrant dark fruit, savory spice, crunchy acidity, and fine-grained, mineral-tinged tannins.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with roasted leg of lamb, grilled duck breast, pork tenderloin, wild mushroom risotto, charcuterie, and aged goat cheese.
