A magnificent and powerfully structured Tuscan red wine crafted by Terre Nere exclusively during exceptional vintages from 100% estate-grown Sangiovese Grosso. Reflecting the beauty of a cooler, classic growing season, this 2013 Riserva undergoes extended aging for 36 months in large traditional Slavonian oak casks followed by patient refinement in the bottle. It pours a brilliant, deep garnet red and unveils a complex, shifting bouquet of ripe summer cherries, wild blueberry confit, and dried violets, beautifully intertwined with nuances of sweet tobacco leaf, clove, baking spice, and Mediterranean brush. The palate is intensely concentrated and determined, framing deep dark fruit layers with tightly knit, robust tannins, an electric line of savory alpine acidity, and a very long, balanced finish showing hints of white pepper and espresso.
