Lost Lore Anejo Tequila

Lost Lore Añejo Tequila is an exceptional, additive-free ultra-premium sipping tequila that represents the pinnacle of barrel aging within the Lost Lore portfolio. Masterfully crafted by Sergio Cruz at the celebrated Feliciano Vivanco y Asociados distillery (NOM 1414) in Arandas, Jalisco, this small-batch expression is made from 100% estate-grown Blue Weber agave harvested from the iron-rich highlands of Los Altos. The agave hearts are traditionally slow-cooked in stone ovens, crushed via roller mill, and fermented to classical music. Following double distillation in copper pot stills, the spirit undergoes a patient maturation process for up to 18 months in a combination of charred American white oak whiskey barrels and select French oak casks. This meticulous aging process beautifully tames the highland agave's natural peppery punch, dressing it in layers of luxurious barrel complexities while preserving the foundational cooked agave character.

Food Pairing: Pairs magnificently with grilled ribeye steak with chimichurri sauce, slow-roasted pork carnitas, rich chicken mole poblano, dark chocolate lava cake, or a fine, medium-bodied cigar.

TASTING NOTES - A brilliant amber-gold color with warm copper reflections, displaying a viscous, velvety, and full-bodied mouthfeel that slowly coats the glass with heavy legs.

NOSE - Deep and inviting, opening with rich aromas of warm caramel, dark vanilla bean, and toasted oak, beautifully integrated with sweet cooked agave, dried fruits, and a gentle dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg.

PALATE - Silky and complex on the tongue, delivering an initial wave of rich butterscotch, roasted nuts, and dark chocolate, followed by an elegant mid-palate of sweet baking spices, tobacco leaf, and earthy cooked agave flavor.

FINISH - Long, smooth, and highly persistent, leaving a delicate trail of sweet oak, vanilla pod, and dry cocoa, balanced by a gentle, warming pepper spice.

SERVE - Best enjoyed neat at room temperature in a tulip-shaped tequila glass or a standard Glencairn to fully appreciate its complex barrel aromas, or served over a single large ice sphere.
