Strathearn Single Malt Scotch Whisky Inaugural Release

Strathearn Inaugural Release is a handcrafted Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky released in 2024, marking the first Strathearn single malt launched under Douglas Laing ownership. Produced at one of Scotland’s smallest distilleries, the release was assembled from just 32 specially selected casks and matured across ex-Bourbon, virgin oak and ex-Sherry oak casks. Strathearn uses Maris Otter malted barley, contributing to its notably creamy and malty house character. Bottled at 50% ABV with natural colour and without chill filtration, the whisky combines rich malt, honeyed sweetness, orchard fruit and dried fruit with warming oak and baking spice.

Food Pairing: Roast pork, mature cheddar, apricot tart, oat biscuits, caramel desserts or dark chocolate.

Tasting Notes: Rich, creamy and malt-forward with honey, buttercream, dried apricot, orchard fruit, baking spice and warming oak.

Nose: Rich malted barley with gentle oak, soft caramel, porridge oats and spiced orchard fruit.

Palate: Mouth-coating and syrupy with honey, buttercream, malt, orange, dried apricot and warming baking spices.

Finish: Long and warming with buttery oat biscuits, dried fruit, dark chocolate, pepper and lingering oak spice.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature or add a few drops of water to open the creamy malt, fruit and spice characteristics.
