Archives Strathclyde 1992 30 Year Old The Fishes of Samoa

Distilled at Strathclyde Distillery on 20 November 1992 and bottled on 28 September 2023, this 30 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky was independently bottled by Archives as part of its The Fishes of Samoa series. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon barrel, Cask #457907, it yielded just 181 bottles at 48% ABV. Three decades of maturation give this Lowland grain whisky a polished profile built around vanilla, honeyed sweetness, ripe fruit and mature oak, while retaining the lighter character associated with long-aged grain whisky.

Food Pairing: Crème brûlée, vanilla shortbread, toasted almonds, apple tart, mild aged cheese or caramel desserts.

Tasting Notes: Mature and elegant with vanilla, honey, orchard fruit, gentle florals, toasted nuts and polished oak.

Nose: Sweet vanilla and honey with ripe orchard fruit, gentle floral notes and mature oak.

Palate: Silky and rounded with vanilla, caramel, ripe fruit and toasted nuts, followed by warming oak and gentle spice.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering vanilla sweetness, mature oak and soft spice.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature to appreciate its long-aged grain character; a small amount of water can soften the oak and bring forward additional vanilla and fruit.
