Stillhead Bartender's Rye Whisky

Produced by Stillhead Distillery in Duncan, British Columbia, Bartender’s Rye is a grain-forward Canadian rye whisky developed with cocktail use in mind. Made entirely from locally sourced B.C.-grown rye and bottled at 46% ABV, it is matured in custom West Virginia American oak casks that are air-dried for 18 months before receiving a heavy toast and #2 char. The result emphasizes bold rye grain, peppery spice and herbal character alongside caramel, vanilla and toasted oak.

Food Pairing: Smoked meats, aged cheddar, cinnamon pastries, maple-glazed pork, milk chocolate, or roasted nuts with warming spices.

Tasting Notes: Bold and grain-forward, combining assertive rye spice and herbal character with caramel, vanilla, citrus and toasted American oak.

Nose: Rustic and aromatic, with rye grain, burnt caramel and vanilla joined by black pepper, anise, liquorice, cinnamon and fresh orange.

Palate: Spicy and herbaceous, developing green pepper, fennel and menthol alongside cinnamon, maple sweetness, seasoned oak and cigar-box notes.

Finish: Dry and peppery, with lingering wood, rye spice and toasted oak character.

Serve: Enjoy neat or over ice, though its assertive grain and spice profile was designed to stand up particularly well in cocktails such as a Manhattan, Boulevardier or Old Fashioned.
