Stagg Jr Batch 4

Produced by Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, Stagg Jr. Batch 4 is an uncut and unfiltered Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey released in 2015. Bottled at a formidable 132.2 proof (66.10% ABV), this early Stagg Jr. release matured for more than eight years in new charred American oak. Built from Buffalo Trace’s low-rye Mash Bill #1, Batch 4 delivers concentrated caramel and vanilla sweetness alongside dark cherry, chocolate, baking spice and deeply charred oak.

Food Pairing: Smoked brisket, grilled steak, aged cheddar, pecan pie, dark chocolate, or caramel desserts with toasted nuts.

Tasting Notes: Powerful and full-bodied, combining caramel and vanilla with dark cherry, chocolate, brown sugar, baking spices and deeply toasted oak.

Nose: Rich and concentrated, with caramel, vanilla and dark cherry accompanied by brown sugar, charred oak and warming cinnamon spice.

Palate: Bold and mouth-coating, developing dark chocolate and caramel alongside cherry, vanilla, cinnamon, clove and assertive oak.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering toffee, seasoned oak, dark chocolate and baking spice followed by persistent barrel-proof heat.

Serve: Enjoy neat in a Glencairn or tulip-shaped whisky glass; at 66.10% ABV, gradually adding water can help reveal additional caramel, fruit and chocolate while moderating its considerable strength.
