About the St. Innocent Shea Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017
St. Innocent Shea Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017 pours a beautiful, clear garnet color with elegant ruby hues in the glass. The highly expressive and complex bouquet opens with intense dark aromas of dried flowers, white pepper, wild blackberries, and earth, accented by secondary elements of black cherry, cola, dark chocolate, and ginger root. On the palate, this medium-to-full-bodied Oregon red wine showcases exceptional structural balance and depth. Sourced from the shallow marine sedimentary soils of the iconic Shea Vineyard, its savory flavors of raspberry and dark plum intertwine beautifully with a mineral-driven backbone and a lively line of natural acidity. The ample, fine-grained tannins blend effortlessly with the sweet acidity, fading gently into a long, vivid, and beautifully focused finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs perfectly with roast duck breast, cedar-planked wild salmon, savory mushroom risotto, herb-roasted turkey, or grilled pork loin chops.
94 Points - James Suckling
A fresh, vivid red with sliced strawberry, orange peel, crushed stone and some flowers. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins and a long, vivid finish. All in finesse and energy. Drink after 2023.
