Hazelburn 15 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Cask Matured 2008

Hazelburn 15 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Cask Matured is a limited 2023 release from Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. Distilled in June 2008 and bottled in September 2023, this triple-distilled Hazelburn single malt spent its full 15-year maturation in Oloroso Sherry casks. Bottled at 55.8% ABV with an outturn of 9,000 bottles, it combines Hazelburn’s traditionally unpeated character with a rich, fruit-forward Sherry influence.

Food Pairing: Aged cheddar, roasted nuts, glazed pork, dried figs, fruitcake, dark chocolate or caramel desserts.

Tasting Notes: Rich and full-bodied, combining dark fruits, confectionery sweetness, earthy complexity and warming spice.

Nose: Cherry, date syrup and rich dark-fruit notes with Black Forest cake, soft fudge and caramel developing with time.

Palate: Rich and balanced with stewed fruits, raisins, caramel sweetness, chocolate and warming spice.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering dried fruit, dark chocolate, toasted oak and gentle earthy notes.

Serve: Enjoy neat first. At 55.8% ABV, a few drops of water can open the Sherry-driven fruit and deeper layers of the whisky.
