Springbank 8 Year Old Fresh Madeira Cask Springbank Society

Springbank 8 Year Old Fresh Madeira Cask is a limited Springbank Society release distilled in February 2017 and bottled in August 2025. The whisky was fully matured for eight years in six fresh Madeira casks and bottled at 54.7% ABV, with only 1,761 bottles released. The full Madeira maturation adds layers of rich red fruit and wine sweetness while retaining Springbank’s distinctive oily, coastal and gently smoky Campbeltown character.

Food Pairing: Roast pork, smoked ham, mature cheddar, berry compote, dark chocolate, fruitcake or caramelized nuts.

Tasting Notes: Rich red and dark fruits combine with creamy sweetness, spice, coastal minerality and gentle smoke.

Nose: Rhubarb, leather and fruit compote with brandy-soaked sultanas and gentle peat smoke.

Palate: Blackberries and raspberries followed by peach syrup, vanilla custard, black pepper and dark chocolate.

Finish: Long and drying with prunes, earthy minerality, coastal saltiness and lingering gentle smoke.

Serve: Enjoy neat first. At 54.7% ABV, a few drops of water can open the fruit, Madeira sweetness and coastal character.
