Springbank 1998 Vintage 26 Year Old

Springbank 1998 Vintage 26 Year Old is the inaugural release in Springbank’s Vintage Series, showcasing mature stocks from the family-owned Campbeltown distillery. Distilled in 1998 and bottled in May 2025 after 26 years of maturation, this limited release was matured entirely in Sherry casks, comprising approximately 80% refill Sherry and 20% fresh Sherry casks. Bottled at 48.3% ABV, without added colouring or chill filtration, only 1,500 bottles were released.

Food Pairing: Aged cheddar, roast beef, glazed pork, dried figs, dark chocolate, toasted walnuts or rich fruitcake.

Tasting Notes: Mature and complex, balancing rich Sherry fruit with earthy Springbank character, warming spice, chocolate and maritime notes.

Nose: Medjool dates, blackberries, white chocolate and caramel, with additional dried fruit, seasoned oak and subtle coastal notes.

Palate: Earthy and oily with shortbread, brandy butter and cloves, developing into dark fruit, gentle spice and rich malt.

Finish: Long and mature with polished wood, nutmeg, crystallized ginger, dark chocolate and lingering spice.

Serve: Best enjoyed neat at room temperature. Allowing the whisky several minutes in the glass can help reveal its mature Sherry, fruit and coastal character.
