Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 20

Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 20 is an official 2020 release from Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. Aged for 12 years in a combination of 65% Bourbon casks and 35% Sherry casks, it was bottled at its natural cask strength of 55.3% ABV. This release delivers the robust Springbank house style with rich malt, salted sweetness, coastal character and distinctive smoke, complemented by fruit, spice and dark chocolate from its Bourbon and Sherry maturation.

Food Pairing: Smoked ham, roast pork, mature cheddar, salted pretzels, charcuterie, dark chocolate or caramel desserts.

Tasting Notes: Full-bodied and oily with floral sweetness, malt, salted caramel, spice and savoury coastal character, followed by smoke, dark chocolate and citrus.

Nose: Fresh floral aromas with white and green wine gums, candied ginger, black liquorice and fresh wood notes.

Palate: Rich malt and spiced biscuits lead into salted caramel shortcake, salted pretzels and savoury cured-meat notes, accompanied by Springbank’s characteristic smoke.

Finish: Lingering smoke and sea salt with dark chocolate, freshly ground coffee and bright lemon sherbet.

Serve: Enjoy neat initially, then add a few drops of water to soften the cask strength and reveal additional malt, fruit, spice and coastal character.
