Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 27

Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 27 is a 2025 release from Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. Bottled at 55.9% ABV, this batch was matured in a combination of 60% Bourbon casks, 35% Sherry casks and 5% Rum casks. The varied maturation adds layers of fruit, caramel and dried-fruit richness to Springbank’s oily, maritime and gently smoky house character. 

Food Pairing: Smoked pork, grilled steak, charcuterie, mature cheddar, salted nuts, dark chocolate or caramel-based desserts.

Tasting Notes: Full-bodied and oily with tropical and dried fruits, sweet malt, caramel, coastal salinity and Springbank’s characteristic earthy, lightly smoky character.

Nose: Tropical fruit, orange and dried apricot mingle with rich malt, toffee and subtle coastal notes.

Palate: Rich and viscous with honeyed malt, caramel and dried fruits, developing savoury mineral notes, gentle spice and maritime salinity.

Finish: Long and warming with dried apple and apricot, mineral notes, salt and lingering malt sweetness.

Serve: Enjoy neat first, then add a small amount of water to open the fruit, malt and cask influences.
