Signatory Vintage Speyside(GL)16 Year Old 100 Proof Exceptional Cask Edition #7

Signatory Vintage Speyside (GL) 16 Year Old is Exceptional Cask 100 Proof Edition #7, bottled in 2024 at the traditional 100-proof strength of 57.1% ABV. The whisky spent its full 16-year maturation in first-fill Oloroso Sherry hogsheads, producing an intensely Sherry-driven Speyside malt with layers of dark fruit, chocolate, spice and rich oak. The distillery is officially presented only as “Speyside (GL)”; although specialist retailers commonly identify it as Glenlivet, Signatory does not state the distillery name on the release.

Food Pairing: Roast beef, glazed pork, aged cheddar, dried fruits, roasted nuts, dark chocolate or sticky toffee pudding.

Tasting Notes: Rich and Sherry-forward with concentrated dried fruits, chocolate, dark sweetness, warming spices and mature oak.

Nose: Prunes, dates and sultanas accompanied by toasted bread, milk chocolate, molasses and touches of polished leather.

Palate: Figs and dates lead into rich dark chocolate, pepper and cloves, with deeper notes of tobacco, black tea and mature oak.

Finish: Long and warming with syrupy dark fruits, chocolate, lingering spice and drying Oloroso character.

Serve: Enjoy neat initially, then add a few drops of water to open the dense Sherry character and soften the 57.1% strength.
